I'm about ready to amputate my nose...
Between the sinus infection and this cold I thought my nose had it tough.
Now, I seem to be getting a frighteningly large number of nosebleeds. Five today alone. I've always been prone to nosebleeds, so this is nothing new or panic inducing for me, just worrisome. I'm sure it's just related to all the nose "trauma" lately, but it's still worrying me a little.
They all seem to be caused by some sort of contact with my nose. The first one today was this morning when I was applying make-up to the side of my nose with a sponge applicator. That triggered it. Then later on, I sneezed at work and that started it. When I got home from work I washed my face and that started it (washing my face often starts a nosebleed). Then I washed my face again just now before bed and it started again. I got that one stopped, but 10 minutes later I coughed and it started again.
I'm not exactly sure where the blood in your nose comes from, but I think from a capillary? Is that the right word? When it gets a crack or something, your nose bleeds? I dunno if that's right or not. If so, then I guess I just have a crack that just won't heal. My grandpa had something done to his nose where the sealed something shut so it couldn't bleed anymore, but I don't really know what's involved in that.
Anyway, I just had to get that out of my system. I have an appointment with my family doctor July 2nd and as long as it doesn't get worse (or even keep up at this rate for that matter) I will bring it up with her then. If I continue to get more than one/day I will see someone about it sooner. After this last one I was a little light headed and I'm sure that's not a good thing.

Re:
Date: 2002-06-21 04:09 am (UTC)I'm so totally not a sick person normally. My poor nose!
That's what my grandpa had done, but I didn't use that work because I didn't know how to spell it! :P
Honker
I didn't know nasal difficulties were this common. Most people who hear my sneeze story cannot relate and quite frankly think I'm nuts.

Date: 2002-06-21 07:17 am (UTC)I get addicted to nasal sprays so easily if I have a bad nagging cold or something, I have to have a clear passage at all times otherwise I'm a big paranoid freak!

Date: 2002-06-21 08:09 pm (UTC)Tim has sinus issues. He gets it a lot in the mornings and has a tough time breathing. Not anyone's idea of fun.
I hope you are feeling better for your cottage trip.
