I'm about ready to amputate my nose...

Between the sinus infection and this cold I thought my nose had it tough.
Now, I seem to be getting a frighteningly large number of nosebleeds. Five today alone. I've always been prone to nosebleeds, so this is nothing new or panic inducing for me, just worrisome. I'm sure it's just related to all the nose "trauma" lately, but it's still worrying me a little.
They all seem to be caused by some sort of contact with my nose. The first one today was this morning when I was applying make-up to the side of my nose with a sponge applicator. That triggered it. Then later on, I sneezed at work and that started it. When I got home from work I washed my face and that started it (washing my face often starts a nosebleed). Then I washed my face again just now before bed and it started again. I got that one stopped, but 10 minutes later I coughed and it started again.
I'm not exactly sure where the blood in your nose comes from, but I think from a capillary? Is that the right word? When it gets a crack or something, your nose bleeds? I dunno if that's right or not. If so, then I guess I just have a crack that just won't heal. My grandpa had something done to his nose where the sealed something shut so it couldn't bleed anymore, but I don't really know what's involved in that.
Anyway, I just had to get that out of my system. I have an appointment with my family doctor July 2nd and as long as it doesn't get worse (or even keep up at this rate for that matter) I will bring it up with her then. If I continue to get more than one/day I will see someone about it sooner. After this last one I was a little light headed and I'm sure that's not a good thing.

I really don't know much about nose bleeds but sneezing triggers them for me! They never bleed a lot though.

I remember as a child my cousin having the same problem. They took him and had some kind of cauterization~sp? done. It stopped the nosebleeds but I don't think it was a pleasent experience! But what is when you are a child right?? lol Hope they stop...geez sometimes you feel like you just can't win huh?

Tell me about it!
I'm so totally not a sick person normally. My poor nose!
That's what my grandpa had done, but I didn't use that work because I didn't know how to spell it! :P

I feel like we're good friends due to LJ.. and that we've met and everything but I love learning new things about people. I too have problems with my nose. But not bloody noses. I have very narrow sinuses. I'm more like my dad's side of the family and my father actually had an operation to widen the nasal passage but it didn't do much good. See.. I could have a sneeze in my nose for 2 weeks before it will finally come out. It is the most frustrating thing in the world. I guess you can imagine. But I have fall allergies and I sneeze probably 40 times a day from Sept - Nov.
I didn't know nasal difficulties were this common. Most people who hear my sneeze story cannot relate and quite frankly think I'm nuts.

I think sinus problems are more common then we think, people just don't like to talk about it. My sinuses are the bane of my existence. Whenever I get a cold it goes straight into my head!! I get this real panic thing going on when I can't breate out of my nose too...like some people get when you touch their neck, like you're choking them or something.
I get addicted to nasal sprays so easily if I have a bad nagging cold or something, I have to have a clear passage at all times otherwise I'm a big paranoid freak!

I do not have nose issues. But I'm sorry that you do and are going through some nose issue times. I would say that I wish I had the problem and not you, but that just wouldn't be true. *jab, jab*

Tim has sinus issues. He gets it a lot in the mornings and has a tough time breathing. Not anyone's idea of fun.

I hope you are feeling better for your cottage trip.
