mrs_ladybird: (Brad & Katie's Wedding)
I had a really great long weekend!
Thursday night, Dan and I had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] bellajellybean and Jeremy at their place. They cooked us some awesome spaghetti and even got garlic bread for Dan because he requested it. Dan left and I stayed and spent the night there. We watched Joey and Survivor and called it an early night.
The next morning, I drove Julie to school so I could have her car for the day. I was going to drive to Bowmanville for my doctor's appointment and checked my calendar book on the way to the highway to see if it was at 10 or 10:30 and it turned out it wasn't until 1:30 so I decided to come back home for a while instead. I had some lunch and played around online and then left for my real doctor's appointment. I hadn't been to see him in over a year, so he went over a bunch of general health questions with me (and when I told him I'd recently gone off birth control, he gave me a huge lecture on getting pregnant and tried to prescribe me pre-natal vitamins and give me tons of brochures...I assured him it was just because I was sick of the side effects and that we have no intention of getting pregnant for another couple of years yet). I told him about the nose bleeds I have been getting lately. He asked me a few questions about headaches and stuffy nose and then he checked my nose. He decided that the nose bleeds were most likely caused by allergies and he put me on Flonase to see if it helped. I took some Friday afternoon and haven't had a nose bleed since which is some kind of record for me lately!!! I'm happy! I've also had less headaches and no stuffiness in my nose since. I think he was bang on with his diagnosis!
When I was done there, I picked up Julie from school and after a quick stop at her house, we were on our way. We picked up [livejournal.com profile] syncro_angel at Yorkdale and then continued on to New York. We pulled into Amherst about 9:15 and headed straight for Target. After that we went to the grocery store for munchies and drinks and checked into our hotel. We went to bed about midnight and I totally passed out for the night.
Got up early Saturday morning and set a record by having 3 of us showered and dressed and made up and out the door in less than an hour and a half. We weren't in a hurry...it just happened. We rule. We hit up IHOP for breakfast. I'm totally in love with their butter pecan syrup! Yum!!
With our bellies happy we were off in search of more clothes. We went to TJ Maxx and shopped until Julie had to leave for her presentation. Beckah and I went to Old Navy and then made a quick pit stop at Toys 'R' Us for bathrooms and drinks before meeting up with Julie again. We had to go back into Old Navy for her benefit and then back to Target again for all of our benefits.
Here's a summary of my weekend shopping haul:

Target:
Zip-up green sweater with a collar. Kind of Chenille, but not really. $16.99
Blue V-neck ribbed shirt $11.99
Blue cotton knit sweater set $5 for inner piece, $12 for outer
Sheep Socks $1
Ladybug Socks $1

TJ Maxx:
Bra $5

Old Navy:
Blue knit zip up hoodie half price $14.99 and my first ever Old Navy purchase.

Sweet deals.

After our second Target visit, we went to TGI Fridays for some lunch. I love all the US restaurants!!

From there it was back to Ontario and home. I went back to Julie's and waited for Dan to pick me up. Came home and was totally wired. It was like 9:30 though so I made some hot dogs for dinner and unpacked and planned out meals for this week and made up a grocery list.

This morning I slept in until 10:00 which, thanks to the time change, turned out to only be 9:00. Awesome! Dan and I went on a bit of a cleaning blitz and got our house in order. We had some soup for lunch and then headed into Peterborough for some groceries for the week. I picked up some stuff for making lunches for myself this week and stuff for dinners as well. We also wanted to get a pumpkin for Dan to carve and some Halloween desert since Julie and Jeremy were coming over. No luck on the pumpkin and it was slim pickings on the Halloween treats. We wound up with no pumpkin and some chocolate cupcakes with Halloween decorations on them. They've been selling Halloween stuff since frigging September and now that it actually is Halloween...there's nothing left! Rude!!!

Julie & Jeremy came over and we had dinner and then all played some Dr. Mario on Dan's XBox. I was kicking ass up until the end when Julie's prior skillz started to return to her. We're both going to practice up a bit and try again in a bit.

Now my lunch is all made for tomorrow...I still have to figure out what to wear though. Surprisingly, I'm not nervous which is a really good thing!! Hopefully I'll be able to sleep well tonight and I have an okay first day at my new job tomorrow. I have to remember to take my signed offer letter with me along with some blank cheques for pay and my SIN card. I think I will also take some kleenex incase my nose bleeds decide that they're not done yet. That would suck!!!

I'm off to relax a bit now...think of me tomorrow and hope that my new job is good, kay?
