Oct. 12th, 2004 02:28 pmI'm having one of those days where I'm really hungry...and I've eaten everything that I brought with me to eat today...and there are still 2.5 hours before I can leave to go home for dinner!! *whimpers*
I went to the dollar store at lunch today. I love the dollar store!! I spent 12 bucks and got all kinds of good stuff. I think I have this talent for seeing the few items that aren't junk at the dollar store and scooping them up. I rule. Let's see if I can remember all 12 items:
1. Foil Burner Liners for the Stove
2. Comforter Storage Bag for Under The Bed
3. Another Comforter Storage Bag
4. Snack Sized Ziploc Bags
5. Another Box of Snack Sized Ziploc Bags
6. Large Ziploc Bags
7. Microfiber Glasses Cleaning Cloth
8. Carpenter's Pencils For Dan's Stocking
9. Picture Hanging Kit for Dan's Stocking
10. Cotton Cosmetic Pads
11. Baby Wipes (handy to have around)
12.
Damn...I'm short one. I'm thinking I maybe bought another stocking stuffer for Dan, but it's not coming to me right now. I know you really care.
Looks like Dan is going to Montreal tonight. I talked to him at lunch and his boss said it was fine for him to go as long as he took a cell phone with him in case of work emergency. He'll be back tomorrow afternoon sometime I think, they'll be driving up tonight. I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home where I can have leftover lasagna for dinner and work some more on my cross stitch. I'm a dork.
I called my dad after lunch, it's his birthday today. He was glad to hear from me even though we'd been there all weekend. He and my mom want to come and visit us soon...even though we were just at their house all weekend. Go figure.
A big thanks to
bellajellybean who scored me some discount magazines through a fund raiser for her school. For my mom, I ordered a renewal subscription to Reader's Digest Large Print for my grandpa. She gets it for him every year for his birthday. She will be getting Light & Tasty Magazine for Christmas likely from my dad even though I picked it out. For my birthday from my mom I am getting another year of Canadian Living and Homemaker's and now also Chatelaine.
I love magazines!! The best job I ever had was with the company I worked for in Toronto. It was called NBS and it was a Children's Book Distribution Company. One of the perks was all kinds of discount books and free magazines that were over printed every month. Plus, the people there were amazing and I loved the work (I was the receptionist).
Julie rocks!!
