(no subject)

I'm currently dying my hair. The highlights that boukyou put in for me are growing out and I have nasty little white hairs poking up everywhere. On the advice of imperfectly, I've decided not to embrace this white hair and instead, dye over it. I've got a big weekend coming up this weekend, so it's good timing to dye my hair. :) My colour is called Autumn Mist. What colour do you think my hair will be when it's done? I love hair dye colour names!!
My mom will be arriving here at some point today. She said she was going to give the phone one ring when she left, but since I'm on the Internet and we have crappy dial-up...I won't be hearing that one ring. My guess is that she'll be here sometime between 1pm and 3pm. That's okay. Dan helped me clean up last night, so all I really have to get done before she arrives is put a load of laundry in (she thinks I'm a bad wife if she comes over and our hamper is full...) and get myself clean. If I'm really feeling ambitious, I'll tidy up our room a bit and clean the counters in the kitchen. I guess that more depends on what time she arrives and how much motivation I have. ;)
This afternoon/tonight we'll likely go into town and go grocery shopping. I'll explain that later in the post...for now I'll stick to chronological order. :P

Tomorrow morning, my mom and I are heading to Picton to meet juliel and go to her baby shower. I'm really looking forward to this!! When Robin was here on the long weekend, I asked him how long the drive to Picton was from here (since he did that drive last time he was here) and he said it was only about an hour and a half. He's a lead foot, so I'm going to leave two hours. My mom and I will be leaving at 9:00 tomorrow. The shower starts at 11:00.
After the shower, we'll head back here and do BBQ for dinner and work on making our lunches for Sunday.

Sunday, we're heading into Bowmanville for a breast cancer fund raising lunch auction. Basically, you make a nice lunch and it gets put on a table and up for silent auction. Then, everyone there bids on a lunch and all of the proceeds go to Breast Cancer research. It's a blast! It's put on by one of the teachers from the school my mom retired from. So it's mostly teachers there. This year, I'm bringing bellajellybean and her mom with me as my guests. :)

Sunday afternoon/evening, we're going to a BBQ one of the neighbours is putting on. I'm looking forward to that as well. She's our neighbour to the south, and she's right beside us. She and Dan are always talking when he's outside doing yard work, but I haven't really had a chance to talk to her yet. That should be good. I think I should keep an eye on her, I think she would be all over Dan if he weren't married...she just gives off that vibe. Luckily, she's just a cottager and is only here a few weekends of the year.

I suppose I should get on with my day now...rinse this dye out of my hair and get going on some laundry. Hope everyone has a happy Friday the 13th!!

(no subject)

I just got a message from my mom that she left at 10:35. That means she'll be here around 2:30 or so if she doesn't make too many stops.

I have my hair dye all rinsed out, and I'm sure some pictures will be taken this weekend so you can see the colour it turned out. It looks good so far, but it's still wet so it's hard to see exactly what colour it's going to be.

There's also a load of laundry in the washing machine. The sheets off of our bed. I love sleeping in a bed with freshly washed sheets/blankets. I also love sleeping when the weather is cold, and it's supposed to stay cold into next week. I'm totally digging this year's cooler summer temps!!

What should I do now? I just ate some breakfast and am waiting for the laundry to finish. I'm really not in the mood to clean more, my mom can just deal with it. Maybe I'll find a computer game to play. Yeah, I haven't done that in a long time. :)
